Site to site VPN For PC (Windows 7, 8, 10) & Mac

Types of Site-to-Site VPN:

A site-to-site VPN for PC allows offices to create a connection between the offices that are located far. It helps to extend the company network that is available for all of the resources. It establishes a secure connection between the offices over the internet.

It allows different offices to access the main office intranet. It creates a tunnel to share its network and resources. It encrypts the data and only the right computer can decode it.

A Site To Site VPN

There are two types of site-to-site VPN, which are as follow:

1. Intranet based:

To connect with other branches of the company, you can create an intranet over VPN at one place.  It is low cost and provides many services to users.

2. Extranet-based:

To create a network between two companies, this network is being used over LAN.

How does it work?

The file is broken down into the pieces, creates a tunnel, and sends those packets through the tunnel after wrapping it with one additional layer. It uses the tunneling process, in which data is divided into parts, transfers through the tunnel, and covers the packet with the layer.

The outer layer protects the packets from the public view. The outer layer is called encapsulation. It protects each packet over the internet. The devices connected at each end of the tunnel is called tunnel interfaces. In tunnel mode, both parties create virtual tunnel to share the data.

Encryption takes place on the data only the right computer can read it. It protects your IP and activities as well. It uses Internet Protocol Security (IPS) and GRE to encrypt the data.
